Interpretation of your HEALTH AUDIT

The essence of any comparison or interpretation of examination results is proper reference values. Your HEALTH AUDIT results were evaluated in relation to a large set of reference values (norms) gathered by the developers of Health Audit for this type of testing (cardiopulmonary exercise testing). Our software incorporates predicted normal (healthy) maximal values and normal response curves for all cardiopulmonary variables. These are based on a population study of some 6,000 males and females ranging in age from 10 to 80 years. Out of this population a sample of some 2100 healthy individuals (1,500 males and 600 females) 18 to 70 years of age were selected to define the values for a healthy population living in an industrialized country1. This data base has been updated over the years and was published in 'Medicine and Science in Sport and Exercise' the Journal of the American College of Sports Medicine.

The example graphs below are to illustrate that your own results are plotted throughout the entire exercise test. Each graph represents a different function of the various organ systems.
